Optimalisasi Manajemen Persediaan Produk Jadi Berbasis Business Intelligence untuk Mendukung Keamanan Pangan di CV. XYZ
Abstract
Inventory management is a crucial element in the operation of the food industry, especially in maintaining continuity of supply and ensuring product safety. In the frozen food industry such as sausages, inefficient inventory management can have a direct impact on food quality and safety due to potential expiration, improper storage temperature, or delays in distribution. CV. XYZ, a company engaged in the production of frozen sausages, faces challenges in the inventory recording process which is still manual and only carried out when the product is about to be sold. The delay in updating this data results in the unavailability of real-time information regarding product stock, making it difficult for the company to respond to spikes in demand quickly. As a result, the company is forced to buy from third parties, which risks product traceability and reduces profit margins and customer trust. This study aims to design a finished product inventory management system based on Business Intelligence (BI) to improve operational efficiency while supporting efforts to meet food safety standards. This system is built using Microsoft Visual Basic for Application (VBA) and visualized through a dashboard in Microsoft Excel. The dashboard developed is able to display real-time information regarding the amount of inventory, movement of incoming and outgoing goods, cost and price values, stock trend graphs, and early warnings regarding minimum stock and potential expiration. The implementation of BI is expected to not only speed up decision-making, but also become a supporting tool in maintaining the quality and food safety of frozen sausage products as a whole.
