Pengajaran Bahasa Inggris di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah: Tinjauan Pustaka Atas Strategi dan Tantangan

English has become an essential skill for students to face global challenges. Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI), as an Islamic-based elementary education institution, strives to integrate English teaching into its curriculum through local content or extracurricular activities. However, various challenges still hinder its effective implementation, including limited teacher competence, students’ low learning motivation, and lack of supporting facilities. This literature review aims to identify the strategies applied in English teaching at MI and analyze the challenges faced in practice. The findings highlight the need for communicative approaches, project-based learning, and technology integration as effective strategies, while emphasizing teacher training, contextual teaching materials, and strong school-parent collaboration as practical solutions. This study is expected to provide recommendations for teachers, curriculum developers, and stakeholders to improve the quality of English teaching at MI.
